Experimental Comic by Toothsome

Okay before you proceed to read this comic you must know first the history behind this strip.  Last week I asked V to give me a joke and then I’d put it in a comic strip.
He gave me one and he told me it’s some kind of a French joke.  He sent it to me and was already translated in English.

A guy goes into a bar and orders a beer from the barman. But beware: The

guy wearing a toad on the head. So, intrigued, asked the bartender:

– How did you get it from?

And the toad replied:

– I do not know, it started with a wart under my feet!

Excitedly I went to make my strip.  In my mind, I’d need a guy with a toad head ( because it says: “The guy wearing a toad on the head.”) It did not registered in my mind these words- a toad on the head, but my thought was so quick to see a “toad head”… hahaha

Until later after I finished my comic strip and have read this part  again—-when the bartender asked the guy, it says: “And the toad replied”, so it just meant that the toad is sitting on the guy’s head. Is that it?
And one more thing I was not familiar with this French joke.  Hahaha

But it was too late already and I made some changes too.. like for instance that guy who went to the bar for a beer with a “toad head” as I thought,   I made one of the bartenders to have a ” toad head” instead.  Because I wanted Andy and Mac Giggles in the cast for this comic strip, thinking it would be more funny.  🙂

I showed to V my supposed to be funny comic strip.  Of course, he said, it was not what that  joke meant to be.  He said it was not the guy with a toad head, but a toad on the guys head… hahaha

And so I asked him, to explain to me, why would a toad replied: “I do not know, it started with a wart under my feet!”

All he could say to me is that, I wouldn’t understand it because it’s a French joke anyways…  hahaha

Really, I didn’t get the joke.  Do any of you here, have heard about this joke?

Critics are welcome, just be kind and funny though… LOL and those who knew the creator of this comic strip, well you can proceed and view it. Just click:

Comments

  1. How… how… how… C-r-r-roak… can I get into the bar… to view the toad with the wart under its foot 😉

  2. Toad heads are always funny. I’ve had one for years. It’s made me very popular. Women are always saying: “I’d love to see your pad…”

The joke has to do with the old myth that a person can get warts if he handles a toad. A good joke would be to just switch that around and say that a toad could get warts if he touches a human being. In V’s joke, the idea is exaggerated even more: not only did the poor toad get a wart from touching a human being, the wart actually grew into a human being– ha, ha!!

Your idea of giving people actual toad heads is even funnier, of course… : )

Now if only I could see your new comic!! : (

If it’s got the great Mac Giggles in it, I know it must superb, outstanding, delightful, and wonderful in every way!!!

Password– what could it be?? I’ve tried Dolly, Toothsome, lemons, toothpaste, and 34,501,247 other words.

    Oh, well… guess I’ll just go sit in the closet… : (

    • Just write the name of your favorite comic character and you’re there. And I need you to look at it because you’re my number one critic… hahaha:)
You see now, I laugh so much because I now get the joke… hahaha 🙂 Thanks so much for your clarification… I knew you’d help me with this one!

      LOL…

      • Arrgghh! How can The Great Mac Giggles not be getting the password???

Mac Giggles a genius! His brain is colossal!! His mind is so vast it has been compared to a Great Wasteland!! He has never known failure!!!!

        Never!!!!!

        Until now… : (

My favorite is Toothsome, but she didn’t work. I’ve tried mac, giggles, mac giggles, macgiggles, mac-giggles, mac_giggles, MAC GIGGLES, MACGIGGLES, mac wart, mac toad, macaroni… ARRGGGHHH!!!!

I’m going back in the closet to have coffee break with the mop and the broom… : (

        • Oh Mark, type it carefully, I hope it would work and surely it’s your favorite cartoon… she waits for you at the bar. Save her from that toad-head barman 🙂 hahaha

    • You know Mark, I think I get it now… The joke here is that the guy walks to a bar with his buddy, who is now turned into a toad and this guy carries him on his head, hahaha… so when asked where did he get from, instead of the guy answered him, it was the toad responded… LOL
Wow! He got a wart started from his feet and now he turned into a toad… hahaha LOL
I told this just now to V and he said that now i understood the joke…. hahaha

      • That’s it! What makes the original joke funny, is the idea that the toad thinks the bartender is talking to him (the toad).

When the bartender asks: “How’d THAT happen?”, he’s talking to the guy with the toad on his head, and he means: “Hey mister, what caused that toad to grow out of your head??”

But the toad assumes the bartender is talking to him (the toad), and that the bartender is really asking: “What has caused that man to grow out of you, Mr. Toad?”

So the toad explains: “Well, it all started with a wart on my foot…”– meaning that the wart kept growing and got so big it turned into a full-grown man.

        Ha-ha! That’s a funny one, Mr. Toad!! : P

  3. Katrina says:

Ok, I get it from your perspective and I get the joke (I think I’ve heard a similar joke at sometime), no worries, its all funny, have a great week
